- UTR Rating Range: 3.0-5.0
Program Priorities:
- A Fun, Effective, Highly Organized School-Year Program for Intermediate players seeking to make steady progress towards a High Intermediate Level of Play (UTR 4.0-6.0), with an emphasis on Skill Development and Situational Group Training. (Note: Players seeking to progress beyond High Intermediate to Advanced Levels will require additional Instruction and Competitive Play beyond the basic program requirements.)
- Provide Opportunities for Open Play Assessment and Friendly Competition through periodic In-House Matchplay Sessions
Program Features:
- Full-Time NTS Program Leaders
- Maximum 4 players per Court
- Maximum 1:6 Coach-Student Ratio
- Players sub-divided into ‘pods’ to ensure suitable levels of challenge
Curriculum emphasizes the 5 Playing Situations, The Process of Play (Ready-Set-Stroke), Stroke Development and Understanding of the Rules, Etiquette and Strategies of Open Play, both Singles and Doubles.

Student Requirements:
- Correct Age Group
- Ability to Function within a Group Setting
- Minimum 80% Attendance in Group Lessons and Matchplay sessions combined (measured after Fall, Winter and Spring sessions).
Maximum Participants: 12 per class
Commitment:
Training Activities: Minimum 2 group lessons per week
Playing Activities: Intermittent Saturday Matchplay Sessions (9 per year)
Competitive Requirements:
Not applicable, but players are encouraged to participate in suitable High School, UTR and OTA Tournaments
Physical Training Requirements:
Not applicable, but recommended for more serious students. On-Court Lessons will incorporate physical skills, emphasizing especially balance, coordination, speed and agility, in general and as related to specific requirements of footwork and stroke production.
